APC campaign council criticises Peter Obi over 2023 election claim

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has criticised Peter Obi for saying he won the 2023 presidential election while admitting he has no evidence.

In a statement by its spokesman, Dele Alake, the council cited Obi's recent BBC interview, in which he said he won the last election and that not everything is based on evidence.

The council said President Bola Tinubu won the election, as declared by INEC and affirmed by the election petition tribunal and the Supreme Court. It also pointed out that Obi finished third.

It renewed its call for Obi to keep an earlier pledge to leave the 2027 race if records showed his administration left liabilities in Anambra State, which the council says they do.
