ASUU suspends strike at three Lagos state-owned universities, lecturers to resume immediately

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its strike at Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State University of Education (LASUED) and Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH). Lecturers have been directed to resume work immediately.
The union announced the suspension on Friday, after negotiations with the Lagos State Government over staff welfare and outstanding agreements.
The strike began in September after the union said the state had not met its demands, chiefly adopting the December 2025 ASUU-FG agreement in the three universities.
ASUU said it will keep talking to the state government until all welfare issues are settled. The LASUED branch said classes there resume on Monday, October 12.
