Jigawa ADC protests omission of deputy governorship candidate and seven others from INEC’s final list

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State has protested the omission of its deputy governorship candidate and seven others from INEC’s final list.

At the INEC office in Dutse, the list pasted on Saturday showed the ADC governorship candidate, Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, with a different running mate, whose nomination the party disputes. The party’s Deputy State Chairman, Nuraddeen Jidawa, confirmed that Aminu Ibrahim Ringim is missing, saying he remains the name officially submitted to INEC. He said about seven other candidates endorsed by the party were also left out.

The ADC says it does not consider the list released by INEC to be final. But INEC’s Jigawa spokesman, Adamu Sawaba, said the list pasted on Saturday is the final list for the 2027 elections.

The Jigawa ADC has been split into rival camps over its governorship ticket. In September, party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar asked both factions to withdraw their court cases and accept the list published by INEC.
